Does this device come with a remote temperature probe or thermocouple to measure dry bulb temperature - if so where does it plug in - the bottom of the device?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from These are not good I work at a large institution. My department has 8 of these and none of them tell the same thing. Many are wildly different from the others and there is no way to know which one is right and it costs as much to send it for calibration as it cost to buy in the first place. I'm guessing Fluke doesn't want to touch these things because they are junk so they are charging a fortune to fix them hoping no one will take them up on it. This is the most expensive piece of junk I own. .

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Might work, might not We have one of these units that seems to function properly so we purchased a second unit. We sent the new unit with calibration certificate to our calibration lab to have is registered and it failed calibration. Fluke's remedy for a new unit is to sell us another unit. No thanks, we'll be changing brands

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage Only about a year old and was babied and protected well between uses. Rh is off by 10% on avg rendering it totally useless as an hvac tech. Can't be field calibrated, fluke wants $865 for calibration. Unacceptable. This should have came calibrated and held for more than one year. They are not accurate and long lasting like they claim. So upset with fluke especially since I've been a customer for 25 years for electrical meters. Don't buy this. It's trash

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Calibration We have about 6 of the 971 meters. We use them every day, and they work great for the project. We paid $341.00 each. We just called for calibration and Fluke wants $629.00 per instrument. We have 4 of the 975 IAQ meters (include Temp, RM, CO & CO2). The calibration cost is $564.00 for a 2 year factory calibration. When I asked Fluke Calibration if the pricing was a mistake, they said no. The marking on this instrument is misleading and should say disposable. We paid state property tax on each meter. We would have put it in our expendables and not paid property tax on them. Our Company is pro sustainability and does not believe in disposable meters. We were told when we purchased the meters that they were able to be calibrated. We will be going to another manufacture. We will not be buying or recommending Fluke again unless they can fix this problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't try and get it calibrated or repaired This little meter we use once a month to check humidity levels in agricultural drying facilities. This meter has been in a carrying case and never abused. After 13 months it won't turn on. We find out the warranty is expired and tough luck buy another unit. We were disgusted. Additionally the service department was dismissive and rude. Don't buy this. It's an imported device slapped into a Fluke branded case.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Out of spec after 3 years Our plant engineering team bought a couple of these for checking humidity in our paint shop. When performing annual verification using our Fluke 5128A standard, it was reading 23.3%RH @ 20%RH & 23°C. Spec is +/- 2.5%. No adjustment available. Seems quite expensive for a disposable meter.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Inaccurate After 3 Years We purchased a 971 a few years ago to verify our alignments on temperature and humidity sensors. Out of the box, we absolutely loved it! It was much quicker to verify our equipment with this meter than what we were using before. Unfortunately, the honeymoon didn't last too long. We are required to have all of our test equipment calibrated every year. On our next round of calibrations, the cal team that calibrates all our equipment informed us that this meter had a proprietary calibration, so we would have to send it to Fluke for any calibration adjustments. No worries. We called Fluke, but were shocked to discover that they wanted us to pay $300 for the calibration! The meter itself cost us $300! Luckily, our calibration tech had tested the meter's accuracy as-is, and, although he couldn't place an official cal tag on it, he had verified its accuracy was within range. For the next few years, we would hand over the meter to the cal team knowing they couldn't cal it, but to verify it's accuracy was within range. Our superiors didn't particularly like that, but they accepted it as long as the meter's accuracy was verified by the cal team. Then, after only 3 short years of moderate service, the meter was red-tagged for being out of tolerance, and we can no longer use it. So beware! This meter might be good if you only want ballpark figures in the long term. But if you need it to stay within its range, it will be a 6.7 oz paperweight in a few years. Fluke wants $300 to cal it, but you might as well buy a new one at that price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I use it on every AC job. I really love this meter, i always use it at the end of every job to make sure my temperature split is correct. Love the wet bulb temperature reading and the humidity reading. Can't see myself with this nifty tool.
