Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't Last Use it every day. The LVD1A just doesn't last. I have 4 of them that have stopped working setting on my desk. It works great when it is working, however the life of the unit is very short. For $40.00 the unit should last longer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Durable I really loved this product. It works well. It detects AC voltage well and I like how it can be clipped to the brim of a baseball cap and used as a work light. The problem is that it stops working after a few months, sometime six, sometimes three. Replacing the battery and cleaning doesn't help. I thought it was just a fluke (sorry for the pun). I ended up buying three, over time, each lasted a few months. Never any damage, just stops working. The problem may have been caused by carrying it in my pocket all the time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best compact/clip/light/DT EVER!! If I can't trust it, it's not worth losing my life for. There is no need to ever stray away from Fluke. I like it so much that I got 2 more!! Home/Truck/Work I won't be caught without it. Clip it to your hat if you need a spot light or just use as a regular compact flash light, that you can actually keep in that TINY jeans pocket!! All the while, knowing you can trust it to let you know there is no power to that box your about to stick your hands in-

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not reliable This device is very sensitive to the movement of your hand, and will readily give false alarms. This makes it very hard to tell if a wire is actually hot. There is no audio alarm. I considered this dangerous, and opted not to use it any further. May work as a book light in a pinch.
