Remembering John Fluke Sr.—three decades later

The thirtieth anniversary of the passing of Fluke founder John Fluke Sr. occurred earlier this year. To help celebrate his memory and share the vision that our company is based on, our colleagues in Human Resources made a short video. The video includes reminiscences from Fluke and Fluke Calibration associates (including yours truly) who remember what it was like to work at Fluke ”back in the day.”

Some of you may be in the calibration and metrology business long enough that you, too, remember the man we affectionately called “Senior.” We share this video with you as a short walk down memory lane. For those of you who are newer to our field, you might enjoy getting a peek behind the scenes at the types of values we talk about within Fluke and Fluke Calibration, the ones that help drive our business. You’ll hear a lot of talk about customers, particularly the idea of giving customers a little more than they thought they were paying for—a notion still very much championed within Fluke Calibration today

As part of this look back in time, we offer this from The Seattle Times newspaper. Touch screen technology has come a long way since this article was written, as you can see in our new 5730A Multifunction Calibrator . The 5730A is the latest in a proud lineage of multifunction calibrators that began in the late 1980s with the 5700A. It’s a perfect example of how we keep working to make our products better to keep up with our customers’ demands, or, as we say, “innovation defines our future.”

At Fluke Calibration, we continue to build upon the legacy left to us by John Fluke Sr., as well as the values of the brands we have acquired (in case you are unfamiliar with those brands, you can read more about them here in "Fluke Calibration: Seven Measurement Disciplines, One Brand”).
