Product overview: Fluke TL71 Premium Test Lead Set

The Fluke TL71 Premium Multimeter Test Lead Set is a pair of comfort grip probes (red and black) with flexible silicone-insulated, right-angle test leads. These distinctive comfort grip probes are heat and cold resistant.

As with all Fluke products, these test leads undergo a battery of safety tests to be rated at:

CAT II 1000 V, 10 A rating

CAT III 1000 V, CAT IV 600V with protective cap

The WearGuard™ test lead indicator shows wear and tear easier. It exposes a contrasting color when the leads are damaged and need to be replaced. Silicone-insulated leads have superior flexibility in cold temperatures and resistance to high temperatures.

The Fluke TL71 Premium Test Leads are compatible with all instruments that accept standard 4 mm (0.16 in) shrouded banana connectors. Some of the compatible tools include:

Fluke 902 FC True-RMS HVAC Clamp Meter

Fluke 87V Industrial Multimeter

Fluke 115 Field Technicians Digital Multimeter

Fluke 787B ProcessMeter™

These test leads come with a one-year warranty.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as good as I’d hoped. Talked with several people at Fluke and couldn’t get a straight answer on minimum parameters for DMM cables. Purchased 4 and none read the same on continuity, causing issues when reading minor differences in resistance, uA, uV. Also issues with capacitance build up in cabling, causing issues in wandering readings even while connected to a component. TL175s seem to have fewer issues than TL71s.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fluke replacement test leads I have a FLUKE clamp meter that was a few years old and had the test lead fraying and ready to be replaced. These leads felt way better than the original, and I am confident they will let much longer before needing to be replaced again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DON'T BOTHER WITH KNOCKOFFS!!!! Do *NOT* go aftermarket!! We did, they SUCK. This product is the authentic, high quality, original product, and nothing compares. By the time you spend money on knockoffs, and keep replacing them, you are better off spending the money on the fine, original parts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Remain flexible even in cold. These leads are quite long and very flexible, even in cold temps. They are a huge improvement to the previous leads we have used. Low resistance means accurate measurement and we all know how important that is. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for reliable test leads.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just buy one, you'll be glad you did. Reliable meter, perfect for industrial use. Shame it doesn't come with the premium Silicone test leads for the price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Two sets suffered broken wires inside I've had TWO SETS of these probes suffer broken wires right at the tail end of the probe where the wire meets a hard shank within the probe over several years. The flexing from ordinary and customary use over time concentrates all the flexing stress at this part and conductors break. You'll eventually get intermittent reading when all the conductors (there are 50+ ultra fine conductors in the jacket). You can check for failure by putting the meter on continuity test, then monitoring for fluctuating resistance reading and interruption in beep as you gently wiggle/tug on the cord After the failure, you can yank on the cord and it will pop right out, because all the strands are already broken. When you yank on the lead on a good probe, you wouldn't be able to pull it out, because copper is not broken. Other than yanking on the cord to VERIFY THE FAILURE, they have not been abused. I see that another review rubberboot experienced the exact same thing and given that I've had two sets fail the same exact way, I think it's a design flaw.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from looks and feels cheap. Got a pair of fluke tl71. One is slightly bent. and one is way more bent. cheap plastic. does not feel or look premium. I expect more from fluke. I also bought a fluke 115 multimeter. That is really premium quality. And I would recommend!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What are you thinking Fluke? I run a Troubleshooting crew, that continually relies on fluke qaulity so accuracy is to the extreme importance. We bought two sets of the TL71 leads 2 days ago.... and now both sets are giving inconsistent readings. What in the world are you thinking Fluke?
