Product overview: Fluke 80K-6 High Voltage Probe

The 80K-6 is a high voltage probe designed to extend the voltage measuring capability of an AC/DC voltmeter to 6000 volts peak AC or DC Overvoltage Category I. This means the probe can only be used to make measurements on energy limited circuits within equipment. Examples include high voltage within televisions or photo copy machines. DO NOT use this probe to measure high voltages on power distribution systems. The probe provides high accuracy when used with a voltmeter having 10 Megohm input impedance.

I have a hipotronics 710-.5, I'd like to test and verify its voltges between 1250-2000v ac, I'd like to use this with our fluke 1587 IR DMM, would you agree this would be the best fit for verification?

Asked by: Bren
No, Fluke doesn't have a model that will measure 1250 to 2000 volts.

I have an Amprobe ACD-14-PRO meter that per the published specs has a 10M ohm input impedance. Will this high voltage probe fit the meter probe sockets and function on my meter? Intended use is to measure the high voltage at the magnatrons on microwaves.

Asked by: GregB87
Yes, the Fluke 80K-6 High Voltage Probe will fit the sockets and functionality of the Amprobe ACD-14-PRO.

I want to measure the DC biasing voltage 5KV of rf amplifier. The plate current on normal operation is 1.8A. Can I measure it with this 6K probe as I have the fluke 177 true RMS multimeter.

I have this probe, does anyone know of a flat attachment to sneak under CRT anode caps? I have a crust one I would rather not remove nor try to pull up on.

Asked by: JEmlay

can we use it as a groundstick for discharging powersupply?
