Priority Gold Instrument CarePlan
Make sure to ask your account manager about the Fluke Calibration Priority Gold CarePlan
A Fluke Calibration Priority Gold CarePlan puts you in control of your downtime and in control of your business, with calibration services and other offerings.
The 5520A multi-product calibrator supplies direct voltage and current, alternating voltage and current with various waveforms and harmonics, two voltage outputs or simultaneous voltage and current to simulate DC and AC power with control of phase, resistance, capacitance, thermocouples and RTDs. The 5520A can also measure thermocouple temperature, humidity (with probe), and pressure using one of 28 Fluke Calibration 700 Series pressure modules. Three options allow oscilloscopes to be calibrated up to 1.1 GHz. In addition, the 5520A-PQ power quality option allows the 5520A to calibrate power quality instrumentation to conform to IEC and other standards standards.
Broad workload coverage
Because of its ability to calibrate much of your workload, the 5520A gives you even more bang for your buck. Instead of having to purchase, maintain and transport multiple instruments, the 5520A combines all functions into a single compact, portable and economical tool.
Simple handling
Although packed with features, the 5520A is easy to use. Its front panel is logically laid out and clearly labeled. Plus, its bright LCD screens provide all the necessary information at a glance. The 5520A is so intuitive to use that you hardly need to consult the manual. In virtually all operations, the hand naturally moves from left to right. Values are entered using a calculator-like keyboard. The output values can be easily increased or decreased even in multiples of ten (1-2-5 sequence in oscilloscope mode) using the multiplication and division keys. It is even possible to see the uncertainty of any value with the press of a key.
Versatile and flexible
With the basic 5520A, a lot of work can be done. Plus, as your workload changes, the 5520A can adapt. Three options are available to meet oscilloscope calibration requirements. If your workload consists primarily of oscilloscopes with bandwidth up to 300 MHz, the 5500A-SC300 option is very economical. If your workload reaches 600 MHz, the 5500A-SC600 option adds complete, powerful oscilloscope calibration capability to the 5520A. The 5520A-SC100 option allows the 5520A to calibrate all your oscilloscopes up to 1.1 GHz with 300 ps rise times, even 125 ps with the 5800A/TDP tunnel diode drive option. Any of these options can be included at the time of purchase or added later if your needs change.
If your workload includes three-phase power measurement tools, the 5520A can greatly simplify the task. Its phase locking feature allows three 5520A calibrators to be "locked" at once to simulate three-phase power of approximately 21 kW with various waveforms, harmonics and precise phase control. Using this feature, it is also possible to "sum" the current outputs of multiple 5520A calibrators to supply 100 A or more to directly test clamp meters or power transformers.
Portable and durable
The 5520A is not limited to the controlled environment of the calibration laboratory. It is designed to take you wherever the work is. It is compact, making it easy to transport to any workplace. Being sturdy, it does not need to be treated like a delicate laboratory instrument. Furthermore, it is autonomous. No test pad is needed.
A complete solution
All 5520A calibrators are shipped with a calibration certificate with results data, which can be tracked to meet nationally recognized standards. Fluke service facilities are available around the world when you need to recalibrate your instrument, ensuring this job is done quickly and correctly.
This makes it very easy to comply with quality standards
With quality management standards such as ISO 9000, calibration is not just about making measurements. Documentation, control and reporting requirements must be met.
5500/CAL, our optional Microsoft Windows®-based software, simplifies the documentation of your procedures, compliance and traceability according to ISO 9000 and other similar quality standards. It also collects and reports calibration result information, helping you consistently, quickly and efficiently calibrate a wide variety of instruments. With this software, it is possible to fully automate the calibration process, from creating and executing procedures to collecting and reporting results data. Thousands of procedures are included in a growing list at no additional cost. They can be run directly or used as a basis for creating your own new procedures.
5500/CAL is part of a suite of applications called MET/CAL®Plus. 5500/CAL is designed around RS-232 instrument control and works with the 5500A, 5520A and 5800A calibrators. If you need IEEE instrument control or want to automate the calibration of additional instruments, you can upgrade to MET/CAL®. Additionally, you can add measurement and test asset management features with MET/TRACK.
All three applications are powered by a powerful, industry-standard SQL database server, SQL Anywhere® from Sybase, which provides secure, reliable storage for calibration information. The applications are modular, so you can configure a single application on a personal computer or take advantage of its client/server design across your entire network.
